Corporate Controller

Xceed Staffing is looking for a Corporate Controller for an exciting startup SaaS/Software company located in Santa Clara, CA.  The Controller will report directly to the CFO and responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations including monthly close cycles, internal and external financial reporting, internal controls and policy development and implementation. The Controller must be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of leader and should enjoy a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all corporate accounting and auxiliary functions including: revenue, AP, AR, payroll, 401K, treasury, technical accounting, equity program, tax, financial systems, and insurance.
  • Manage key external relationships such as offshore accounting firms and auditors.
  • Operate as a business partner to the CFO
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Manage, develop, and retain a high performing Accounting team capable of effectively scaling with business growth and working with a company first mentality.
  • Develop and drive necessary financial policies, procedures, and systems to scale Accounting with business growth.
  • Assess key assumptions and drive framework used in making critical accounting judgment and estimates
  • Prepare internal and external financial reporting for management, the BOD, and for external service partners.
  • Manage the monthly close and related reporting.
  • Lead the team through annual audits.
  • Refine a SOX program to enable an organization that is compliant
 
Requirements
  • Over 15 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance roles, CPA strongly preferred.
  • Success in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Ability to drive projects to completion, manage competing priorities and provide guidance to the team and business on prioritization.
  • Expert in highly technical accounting areas
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of cross functional relationships across the organization.
